Meeting at Leeds University with Darrall Cozens.
On Thursday 7th February, having recently returned from a speaking tour of Latin
America, Darrall Cozens visited Leeds University to share his experiences with more
than 20 students and “Hands off Venezuela!” activists.
Over two days in early October the Cambridge branch of Socialist Appeal
managed to sign up over 150 people at the Cambridge University
Fresher's Fair for the Hands Off Venezuela campaign. Many
had already heard of the campaign and were keen to find out more,
whilst many wanted to know more about Latin American politics in
John Pilgers first outing as a documentary film-maker covers the revolution which is taking place in Latin America, despite US imperialisms attempts to wreck a process that is bringing hope to countless ordinary peoples everyday lives.
The University of Bristol hosted its second Latin American Forum organised by a coalition of solidarity campaigns. Around 120-150 people filled the lecture rooms to debate and discuss the revolutionary social movements that are currently sweeping across Latin America. Hands Off Venezuela was represented by Jorge Martin.
Alan Woods’ stirring speech and coherent argument at a
meeting of about 150 people at the UEA massively boosted the interest of
students and youth in the Venezuelan Revolution, thus proving the huge
potential in this 21st century revolution for invigorating and giving hope to
the workers and youth of the world.
