Venue: KSW 1.01, 20 Kingsway
Guest speaker: Jorge Martin - Catalan Marxist and regular writer for www.marxist.com.
On Friday 27th October, the Catalan republic was declared. However, this new state was quickly crushed by the Spanish goverment, with the Catalan ministers arrested and forced to flee into exile.
Despite repression from Madrid, however, the movement for Catalan independence is not over. Indeed, this repeated repression has only acted to spur on the movement.
The movement for Catalan independence has the potential to radically shake the whole Spanish regime. It would be a direct challenge to the rotten Establishment and the reactionary PP government.
But the task of independence is one that can only be carried out through revolutionary means, through the direct involvement of the masses.
Join the LSEsu Marxist society and our guest speaker Jorge Martin as we discuss the future of the Catalan independence movement.
