This meeting is hosted by Liverpool Marxist Society.
What we are witnessing in Venezuela is an attempt by the reactionary opposition and imperialism to remove the Bolivarian government. For nearly several months the Venezuelan opposition has organised a campaign of protests which have turned violent and involved attacks on public transport, educational buildings, a maternity hospital, etc. Over 40 people have been killed, a number of them as a result of gun fire from opposition protests.
Sarah Taylor, from Manchester Marxist Society, will be giving an update on the situation in Venezuela at this critical juncture for the Bolivarian revolution. We will be looking at the questions of how Venezuela has arrived at this stage and what is needed in order to take the fight for socialism forward.
Everyone is welcome to come along so get yourselves down, share the event widely and feel free to invite anyone who you feel might like to get involved.
