To celebrate International Women's Day, we are having a meeting on women's role in the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Revolution's contribution to the fight against women's oppression.
This day was originally founded over 100 years ago by socialists to remember the struggles of working class women.
Working women have been struggling for equal pay as men for equal work for over a century. We are still not there and with the onset of the crisis in 2008 things have gotten worse. As we are faced with rising sexism and other forms of violence against women and humanity there's a lot we can learn from the struggles, sacrifices and achievements of the women of the Russian Revolution.
Join along the QMUL Marxists as we commemorate those events with a talk followed by a discussion. All welcome!
