Support Wyndeham Impact print workers – they need your help!

Hampshire LRC have passed this resolution of support and asked that it be circulated around the movement to gather further support for these workers. (Thanks to Miles Barter for posting this.)

Hampshire Labour Representation Committee sends its support and solidarity to UNITE members striking at Wyndeham Impact in Basingstoke against a brutal and vindictive attack on their jobs, pay, and terms and conditions, by the company’s management.

We applaud and congratulate their stand against an employer which is breaking promises, by reneging on the reinstatement of, what was supposed to be, a temporary wage cut.

It has frozen pay, made cuts to sick pay, holiday and is imposing sham compulsory redundancies while it seeks to employ new staff on lower terms and conditions – all without consultation or notice.

This is a brutal attack on the workers and their families by a company being dictated to by its private equity bankers, Walstead investments, which despite its cries of poverty continues to buy up new companies.

We call on Wyndeham Impact to show some respect – reinstate union negotiated pay and conditions and jobs, and to stop vindictively attacking its loyal workforce.

This is the 25th anniversary of the print workers battle with Murdoch at Wapping, so a timely reminder of struggles fought and the forces unleashed if Wyndeham Impact workers lose.

We urge people to send messages of solidarity by emailing the Chapel Rep: Stephen Adam on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , share the Wyndeham Impact official dispute leaflet and donate to the strike fund by sending cheques, made payable to ‘Impact Chapel’ sent c/o Steve Attwill, Regional Officer, UNITE, Transport House, 15-16 The Avenue, Southampton, SO17 1XF
