In this new document Alan Woods outlines the real reasons for the
world financial crisis, what it means for us - and them - and what can
be done about it. He shows how Marxism both predicted the chaos which
has hit the money market and revealed the processes which caused it. He
warns that Capitalism will seek to find a way out at our expense - as
one talk show host put it; "When we mess up, we pay. When they mess up,
we pay!"

Alan Woods' new book 'Reformism and Revolution - Marxism and socialism of the 21st Century' has its official launch in the UK at Bolivar Hall on Wednesday, October 1st, in London. It defends the ideas of Marxism and the class struggle against the revisionism of Heinz Dietrich and the bureaucracy who are determined to hold back the movement and water down their programme. Download and print off this A4 leaflet and distribute it as widely as possible.

This book is written in the classic muck-raking style. But
then, there’s a great deal of muck to be raked. It deals with the introduction
of Independent Sector Treatment Centres into the NHS. ISTCs are capitalist
firms operating for profit. It was a New Labour brainwave for them to be given
NHS surgical procedures to perform. The argument was that harnessing the
private sector would help do away with the horribly long hospital waiting lists
left after 18 years of Tory penny pinching.

heart of the educational project. At present there are two Courses – ‘Basic
Concepts and Ideas’ and ‘Looking at Value.’ More are promised. There are
hotlinks to definitions within the Courses. There are already signs of interaction and questioning
among the first users. There is a section. ‘Latest posts.’ Feedback is
welcomed.
