Civil Service Workers On Strike! Print E-mail

As reported in the current issue of Socialist Appeal, over 250,000 members of the Civil Service union PCS will be taking strike action tomorrow Monday 8th and Tuesday 9th March. Click here to learn more.

As workers come out in defence of the Civil Service Compensation Scheme which the governments wants to water down, job centres, law courts, government offices and so on will be shut. Picket lines will be up and running from 8.00am onwards. There will be action in virtually every town and city - so why not pay them a visit and show labour movement solidarity?

There will also be a number of rallies and meetings around the country - details of the big London march and rally is given below. Visit the PCS website for details of all the events.

1pm, Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue, SW1P 1QW

Speakers include Mark Serwotka, PCS general secretary, Janice Godrich PCS president (chair) RMT general secretary Bob Crow, Jeremy Dear NUJ general secretary, John McDonnell MP, Kevin Courtney NUT deputy general secretary.
