Newcastle Marxist Weekend School

As the Marxist Weekend School approaches we would like to announce the provisional timetable for both days as follows.

Saturday

12noon - 12.15 Arrival/Registration

12.15 - 12.30 Welcome

12.30 - 2.30PM Session 1) The Revolutionary Ideas of Marx and Engels
Speaker: Ewan Gibbs

2.30 - 3PM Break
food will be provided for a small price/donation and we will have our book stall on display throughout the break.

3 - 5.45 PM Session 2) Lenin, Bolshevism and the Russion Revolution
Speaker: Alan Woods

5.45 - 6PM Closing the day

Sunday

12noon - 2.30PM Session 1) Trotsky's Struggle Against Stalinism
Speaker: Alan Woods

2.30 - 2.45 Break

2.45 - 4.45 Session 2) The Arab Revolution
Speaker: Lee Singh Gill

4.45 - 5PM Closing Remarks

The weekend school will be taking place in the Constance Room(on the 1st Floor) of Newcastle University's Students Union building. Throughout all of the breaks we will have a book stall on display and as we know that people are travelling into Newcastle to attend the Weekend School, during the breaks on Saturday and Sunday, we will be providing food which can be bought for a small donation. On Saturday evening we will also be holding a social/fundraiser at Barkollo. We have the Gallery(on the 2nd Floor) booked out for our use. There will be music and entertainment and people will be able to get food and drinks from the venue.The address is 22 Leazes Park Road, Newcastle, NE1 4PG. We plan on getting there to start the social between 6.30 and 7PM.
