no_volveran_cover.jpg On Monday the eighth of October the Edinburgh University Hands Off Venezuela society showed Hands Off Venezuela's new film No Volveran. The film that highlights the recent shift to the left in the Bolivarian movement and particularly focuses on the increasing emphasis on workers control in Venezuela was well generally well received by those that attended. After the film show there was a brief discussion on issues such as the new constitution and workers control. It was thought that in the future Hands Off Venezuela should hold a discussion.

This was the first Hands Off Venezuela event in Edinburgh since the new academic year began, and it appeared that Hands Off Venezuela's presence at the University freshers fair paid off, as several new faces from the university were present at the film showing, alongside many familiar faces. This was encouraging as it showed that Hands Off Venezuela does have a core of support in Edinburgh and that it also had the ability to appeal to a layer of new people.

On sale at the screening was a range of Hands Off Venezuela material, including the latest edition of the Hands Off Venezuela magazine. The Socialist Appeal journal was also sold. This meeting has given Edinburgh Hands Off Venezuela a good grounding from which to build for further activities through out the year.
